Castle of Broken Dreams characters and villains
Age: Unknown
Freiheit Debut: "Castle of Broken Dreams"
Weapon: Sakura Scythe
Occupation: Number 11 of Organization XIII
Voice Actor: Dave Mallow
Seiyuu: Ikeda Shuuichi
A relative newcomer to the Organization, Marluxia is lord of the Castle of Broken Dreams, the "Graceful Assassin" and the main antagonist. In battle, he wields a scythe and his association with flowers. His abilities in battle are impressive and can summon crescent waves from his scythe and create large amounts of flower petals to strike his enemies. Along with Larxene, Marluxia conspires to overthrow the Organization by using Karasu to manipulate Corey's memories. He gives Corey his first set of gems to proceed through the castle. He declares Vexen's experiment on Saseko a failure and threatens to tell the Superior about it. The intimidation tactic is effective and Vexen reluctantly agrees to Marluxia's order to kill Corey. Axel remarks that Vexen would kill Corey, thus rendering their plans useless, but Marluxia is confident Vexen will fail. He assigns Axel to eliminate Vexen when the latter fails to kill Corey and almost tells him about his "other side." Upon Axel's return, Marluxia extends his trust to Axel as he has done with Larxene. However, Axel betrays them and convinces Winona to do what she thinks is right. Larxene fails to kill Corey and was eliminated as well. Marluxia recaptures Winona and is confronted by Axel, who accuses Marluxia and Larxene of being traitors for conspiring against the Organization. Axel attempts to kill Marluxia, however, Marluxia returns to the thirteenth floor with Winona, tricking Corey into fighting Axel for him.
Seeing that Axel has been defeated, Marluxia anticipates Corey's arrival on the thirteenth floor. He orders Karasu to erase Corey's memories, but she refuses. When Marluxia implies that he will kill her for disobeying him, Corey demands that Karasu erase his memories for Winona's safety, as his promise will remain and he can protect her. Marluxia says that Corey would become just like Saseko, but Saseko surprises Marluxia, who then engages Corey. They fight, only for Corey to realize he has been fighting a replica of Marluxia; he enters a door to a dark, starry realm to begin the final showdown. The real Marluxia, in his Marluxia Redux form, atop a machine that has some of his abilities, confronts Corey and the final battle ensues. Marluxia, like the other members of the Organization, is killed.

Occupation: Number 12 of Organization XIII
Voice Actor: Grey Delisle
Seiyuu: Yuko Miyamura
The only female member and the "Savage Nymph", Larxene conspires with Marluxia to overthrow Organization XIII by using Corey to achieve their ends. An arrogant sadist by nature, she is abrasive and uncaring for the feelings of others and tries to make people suffer though mindgames and acts of violence. She gets along well with Axel. Larxene uses thunder to fight and wields knives held between her fingers and thrown as her weapons. Compared to the other members, she is incredibly agile and can call forth bolts of lightning in battle.
In her first encounter with Corey, she kicks Marluxia's plans into high gear when she attacks him, and forces him to think Winona had been the girl he loved all along. After the battle, Larxene mocks Corey, claiming he's trying to "play" the hero. The trust Marluxia and Larxene place in Axel proves to be a mistake when he derails their plans by setting Winona free. She reveals to Corey that the Organization has been using him since he stepped into the Castle of Broken Dreams. Larxene appears to Corey, after he fought Saseko for the fourth time, in the form of Glenn, planning to destroy them all. Again, Larxene mocks Corey for "chaining" himself to false memories of Winona and the "promise" he made to her. To add injury to insult, she abuses Winona by violently pushing her to the ground knocking her out. This cruel act proves fatal, as her taunting delays her finishing Corey off long enough for his anger to arouse. He fought and killed Larxene, leaving only Marluxia to contend with.

Working as a double agent in the Castle of Broken Dreams, Axel pretends to join with Larxene and Marluxia in their plan to seize control of the Organization using Corey. To gain their trust, he assassinates Vexen when ordered by Marluxia to rid them of "traitors." Afterwards, in order to derail Marluxia's plans, Axel sets Winona free so that she can reveal to Corey the truth about how Karasu manipulated their memories. Eventually, Axel confronts Marluxia, prepared to destroy him by reminding him of the order to wipe out traitors of the Organization. Freiheit Debut: "Castle of Broken Dreams"
Weapon: Ice Shield
Occupation: Number 4 of Organization XIII
Voice Actor: Paul Eiding
Seiyuu: Nozawa Nachi
Vexen, the "Chilly Academic", is the research scientist of the group and loves to study the secrets of the heart. He is often very stoic in his behavior. Vexen is ranked higher than the others in the Castle of Broken Dreams. He can control ice and carries a large shield in battle that blocks any frontal attacks made against him. His fighting style typically revolves around hindering Corey's movement, and when he is fought in Sanzemica, his attacks include sending icicles to chase Corey, creating slippery frozen puddles on the ground and freezing him in a block of ice. In the movie, he sides with Zexion and Lexaeus to prevent Marluxia from using Corey to overthrow the Organization. He first battles Glenn in order to gather data to an experiment on Saseko using his dream data. However, Vexen cares nothing for her and allows Karasu to manipulate her memories against her wishes. When he encounters Corey, Vexen says that he came to collect his "debt" and provokes Corey's anger by making him believe that he controlled Uriel, Yuber, and Albedo rather than an experimented spirit. After their battle, Vexen gives Corey the gem to Sanzemica with the intention of revealing something important to the boy. Marluxia considers him a traitor as a result and sends Axel to kill him, suspecting that he will reveal the existence of "another child" to Corey.
In Sanzemica, Vexen attempts to reveal to Corey why he feels as though he has been there despite being fairly certain that he had stayed in it. Corey and Vexen battle again after Vexen tells him to throw away his memories and listen to his heart. After being defeated, Vexen sees Corey as a true threat; even after being weakened by false memories, Corey remained very strong. Just as Vexen is about to reveal to Corey Marluxia's plot to use him and the other child's presence, Vexen is struck from behind by one of Axel's chakrams. Despite pleading for mercy, Axel lays the deathblow to Vexen, telling him, "Now you can be nothing instead of just being nobody."

He employs a large tomahawk and earth in battle, throwing his tomahawk, breaking rocks and shaking the arena itself. Lexaeus, along with Vexen and Zexion, are older members of the Organization who are less than pleased when they are forced to submit to the will of newcomers like Marluxia. When they realize the Lord of Castle of Broken Dreams plans to overthrow the Organization by capturing and manipulating Corey, Lexaeus and Zexion decide to capture Glenn and use him in the same fashion to counter Marluxia.
Lexaeus seems to keep an eye on events unfolding in the higher floors of Broken Dreams Castle and he is the one that informs Zexion that Axel has killed Vexen. When it became dangerously apparent that Corey might fall into Marluxia's grasp, Lexaeus confronts Glenn directly, trying to convince him to open himself up to the power of the darkness in his heart. Glenn refuses to give in and Lexaeus attacks him. In a very close battle, Glenn manages to defeat the warrior, but with his last bits of strength, Lexaeus releases all of the darkness within him in hopes of overwhelming and consuming Glenn. However, Drake protects Glenn from the part of Ansem in his heart.

Like Axel, Zexion, the "Cloaked Schemer", is a skilled manipulator by nature. Appearing in Castle of Broken Dreams, his talents lie outside of battle. He is one of two Organization members who appear only in Glenn's story. He has the ability to identify individuals by their scent and is able to sense when they die by noticing their scents fading, and seems to be able to do so from great distances. He can also shapeshift. His power is over illusion, allowing him to mimic others' weapons and create duplicates of himself. Zexion informs Vexen and Lexaeus when he senses two new scents in the lowest basement of the castle. One of the scents is Maleficent, and he senses that she is eliminated by the other visitor, one with a scent "exactly similar" to that of the Superior. With little information on what was happening, he and the others decide to await development. Not long after, he identifies the other guest in the castle: Glenn. He observes the boy's progress through the castle until Vexen's death, when he and Lexaeus decide that they should use Glenn just as they believe Marluxia will use Corey. After Larxene, Lexaeus, and even Marluxia are killed, Zexion sees that Glenn is no longer needed and attempts to destroy him himself. He does not plan to use brute force, though, partly because of personal preference, and partly because Glenn already defeated Lexaeus, one of the stronger Organization members. He leads Glenn into a manifestation of the Justice Bureau in which Glenn sees his friends pointing and hissing curses at him. Zexion appears and wages psychological war on Glenn, telling him about how he threw away his friends and his home, opened the door to darkness, and destroyed his bonds with Drake's family.
Following Glenn's encounter with a malice demon, Zexion uses his power to disguise himself as Corey and attacks him, telling him that he's become nothing more than a pawn of the darkness. He engulfs Glenn in light, but a vision of Kristin and Mamie (who is actually Winona in disguise) manages to convince him to shed his fear of the darkness and accept both it and the light. With newfound strength, he follows Zexion's dark scent through the light and strikes him, but Zexion escapes. His escape is short-lived, however, as Axel brings Saseko down to him and convinces her to inject him with darkness. With this darkness, Zexion battled Glenn in a manifestation of Sanzemica, taking the form of anyone he was close to, even Drake. Glenn slayed Zexion during the battle.
