Luc

Luc, the True Wind Rune bearer

"The world will ultimately end in a huge battle to settle the power struggle between dharma and chaos. Humans will not survive. Our future is predetermined. To avoid our fate, we'd have to oppose the battle which controls the world: that of man versus balance. It's a war against the gods. Man can't fight his destiny. This is the end, known by the True Wind Rune. The desired end."

The Shredding - The first spell of the True Wind Rune. All is silent until a tornado blows through the area, sucking up the enemies and cutting them up with blades of wind.

Funeral Wind - The second spell of the True Wind Rune. The air grows still around one enemy and they are cut multiple times by blades of wind. This attack can be fatal to the person being hit by it.

Shining Wind - The third spell of the True Wind Rune. A tornado consumes everyone on the battlefield (enemies, allies, etc.). The allies of the caster are surrounded by twin green dragons that heal them, while the enemies are attacked by them.

Eternal Wind - The final spell of the True Wind Rune. The enemies are surrounded by twin green snake-like dragons. They circle around them before driving up into the air and slamming a massive tornado down upon them.

True Wind Rune Incarnate - A last resort spell. Once cast, the caster can die from the strain of the rune's power. Luc is surrounded by green wind-like energy and he raises his arms in the air. Suddenly, his form is engulfed by this energy and replaced with a massive green bird-like creature with sixteen wings. He has only used this spell twice in his lifetime and both times it wound up killing him. Click here to see the sequence.

Unite Attacks

Loki and Serge: Pretty Boy ~ Loki and Serge charge forth at an enemy and slash away with their weapons. While they're slashing, Luc throws a blast of energy from his Guardian Eye, striking the enemy, along with Serge and Loki. All three become unfriendly afterwards.

Mahna: Trial of the Wind ~ Mahna proceeds to slash at one enemy, then strikes down an entire row. She leaps back as Luc unleashes a furious cyclone upon the enemies she struck.

Sarah and Yuber: Destroyers ~ The three Destroyers stand in a triangular position and raise their weapons. Sarah uses a spell to create illusions of multiple Lucs and Yubers, while Luc and Yuber proceed with an onslaught of magic and swords. Sarah faint afterwards.

Ted: Rune Rivals ~ Ted begins with a Black Shadows spell, while Luc counters with a Shredding. Ted then unleashes Judgment on a foe, while Luc ends their "contest" with a Shining Wind. Both are unfriendly afterwards.

Background Information

Luc is the holder of the True Wind Rune, and was an apprentice under Leknaat. He is originally from Harmonia, but he was involved in some kind of incident about ten years before the Dunan Unification War at the Circle Temple. He participated in both the Gate Rune Wars and Dunan Unifciation War upon Leknaat's command, and grudgingly fights in these wars. However, when he confronted Sasarai, a Harmonian High Priest, he showed rare enthusiam to fight and caused the Harmonian forces to flee.

Sometime after the Dunan Unification War, he became worried about the future he saw coming from the True Rune, and angered at his destiny as a vessel for True Runes. He believed that there would be complete balance (Dharma) in the world, and it would be lifeless. He decided to take things into his own hands, and attempted to destroy a true rune: his. He enlisted prominent strategist Albert Silverberg (who helped him recruit Yuber the Black Knight) and Sarah, the great magician whom he rescued from the Circle Palace in Crystal Valley previously. Albert knows that to destroy the True Rune, he needs control of multiple other true runes, namely the other elemental runes.

To execute his plan, he became a bishop in Harmonia thanks to Hikusaak, his identity hidden by a mask. Knowing he needs to bring the other true elemental rune bearers out into the open, he first starts rumors about the Fire Bringer being active in the Grasslands. Then he helped incite a war in the Grasslands by having Sarah attack the Lizard Clan disguised as Chris Lightfellow of the Zexen Knights. The Lizard Clan Chief Zepon is killed in the attack, causing the infuriated Lizard Clan; to ambush the Zexen Knights, resulting in all-out war in the Grasslands. The ensuing conflict allowed him access to the bearers of the True Fire, Water, Earth, and Lightning Runes, and he was able to steal the runes using a technique he learned in Harmonia. However, the Fire Bringer led by the Flame Champion; were able to defeat him at the Ceremonial Site, and stop his plans.

He realized the futility of his plans, and makes peace with his mentor Leknaat, whom he betrayed, but it is too late for him. He died together with Sarah; and his soul is gone forever, at rest.

He thought this until Leknaat used some of Mahna's soul and life energy to call him back to the world of the living. Because his soul was now infused with a little bit of her's, Luc began growing more and more attached to Mahna and distanced himself from his mentor.

Luc wasn't seen in this movie, only mentioned by Leknaat. During the credits, he returns to Leknaat's house, showing that he indeed survived the battle against the D-Reaper.

Security Cube Arc

Glenn mentions Luc during this arc as the one who gave him the Obelisk the Tormentor card. When the Toran Army head to ACDC City, Luc appears before them whenever they need help with their mission. It was during this time Luc asked Chaud to assist his comrades in this new battle against the Black Hearts. Luc takes place during the war battle against Silver and Bakura when they attempt to invade Toran Castle. Though their efforts were great, the Obelisk card was still stolen. After this battle he tells the members of the Toran Army in ACDC City the true identity of Silver, as well as the spell he's under.

Hollow Bastion Arc

Before the Toran Army head to Hollow Bastion, Luc convinces them to make an alliance with Holy Harmonia. Going there with them, however, makes them belive the Toran Army are the enemy. Luc assists his comrades against the forces of the holy capital and even make it to his brother, Sasarai. There Sasarai and Luc battle one-on-one. Like before, Luc is the victor. With the alliance formed, Luc finally decides to stay with the Toran Army until further notice.

Black Heart City Arc

Although Luc didn't take part in the Black Heart City battle royal, he would reappear in the battles afterward. He assists Mahna in her war battle struggle against Petra on Dynud. He would be around to witness the demise of Drake.

Season Five - Cult of the Watchers

Mamie St. Claire Arc

Luc stays with the Toran Army to help Mahna with her new duties as the leader. He manages to convince Corey to take the Soul Eater onto himself, since he was chosen. As Saseko and Petra invade, Luc is rendered useless by Saseko's Pale Gate Rune. After Corey kills Saseko, Luc knocks Petra out. Later on, when Corey is kidnapped by Mae Young, Luc assists the Toran Army in their battle to get him back. However, the Crack Waltzes hold them off from completing their goal. Their efforts of stopping the old crone from getting the Star Goblet are in vain. Luc, along with Sasarai, use their runes to hold back the demonic Mae's attacks when she attacks the planet.

Rebuild Toran Castle Arc

With Mae Young defeated, the Crack Waltzes remain. Luc is first seen in this arc, training in the arts of sword fighting with Sasarai for an unseen play of "Le Morte de Arthur." Instead, he plays the caterpillar in "Alice in Wonderland," a role he obviously hated. Later, he takes part as Lord Archie Craven in "The Secret Garden." With the castle finally repaired, Luc takes part in obtaining the Ragnarök dagger. Once the dagger is in their company, he becomes the unofficial guardian of the weapon.

Cult of the Watchers Arc

Luc becomes Mahna's second-in-command during the war against the Watchers. He first becomes involved in the battle against them when they try to invade the Toran Republic. Although he helped obliterate most of the invading forces, he's knocked out by a combined assault from Yuber and Silver. He's becomes deeply depressed when he hears the news of Mahna being captured by the enemy. Because of the event that transpired, he became more determined to destroy the new enemy of the Toran Republic and the world. When it came down to battling the Watchers, this time Mahna as their leader, he demonstrated the devastating powers of his True Rune, nearly destroying most of the soldiers. However, Fenrir would make sure he would never use it against his master. As each member of the army fell, Luc knew it was best to surrender. This was all a ploy, for once the true leader of the Watchers, Manah, revealed herself, he attacked with the Ragnarök in hand. He never got to use it on the little girl, but managed to kill at least two soldiers with it. Later on, the army discovers that Mahna was playing possum and wasn't under the Watchers' control. It was only to reveal the leader's identity. Luc was one of the people in on the plan the whole time.

As time moves on, the Vessels of Anima are now a target for both the Toran Army and the Watchers. Luc is sent to the Mountain Seal to prevent the Vessel of Anima, Asher, from being stolen. However, once he finds it, Max knocks him out and takes it from him. Once the vessels are implanted in their rightful Gears, Luc becomes part of the team to save Kristin from Albedo and Yuber. The operation was a failure and Corey was captured. It was time to strike the Watchers at full force. With the current Battle Ship completed, Luc became part of the team to rescue Corey from the Sky Fortress. Corey was indeed rescued, but Mamie lost her life in the process. The fortress was destroyed afterwards.

Urteil was still coming, even after the Watchers' defeat. Luc sat on the sidelines for a while until the Watchers returned to invade. He teamed with Ted and Sasarai to keep them at bay. Because of a bomb Albedo used, the Toran Army was forced to retreat. A day later, Luc would join the team to rescue Lepant, Tir McDohl, and Gremio from the enemy. As the time came to confront Manah at long last, Luc wouldn't be so hesitate to convince Mahna to kill her. He felt no sympathy toward the possessed child and didn't care if she was love starved. Right when she begged them for death, Luc was happy to accept the offer, but was stopped by Leknaat. The Watchers were finally defeated.

However, Urteil was still in effect. As the grotesqueries descend to the planet, Luc joined Mai and a few other members of the Toran Army on the Rune Cannons to destroy them. Their efforts were in vain and the Battle Ship was totally demolished. Luc helped his comrades with the battle against their new foes long enough for the Star Warriors and a few others to take the queen-beast out of Gregminster. He continued to battle until the queen herself was silenced.

Movie 5 - Castle of Broken Dreams

Luc had a minor role in the "Castle of Broken Dreams" adventure. He appears in Corey's memory chamber of Toran Castle where he assisted him and the army against Ghaleon. In the memory, Luc didn't recall Corey or whom Drake was at all. After the memory was over, Luc didn't make an appearance until the end where he told Glenn about Corey's silence.

Season Six - Tempus Edax Rerum

Tree of Life Arc

Luc finally achieves a major role in the fanfic. At the beginning, he confronts Manah, the former priestess of the Watchers, as she wanders the snowy lands. Still not able to forgive her for her crimes, he tries to kill the child until Corra and Sephiroth interfere. With Mahna's permission, he's allowed to lock the child up in the dungeon until further orders are announced. He then accompanies his commanding officer to the war room where an announcement would be made. There he learns, along with everyone else, of the last shard, the Star Spear, the tamer of time. After the first time distortion occurs, Manah had vanished and Luc accuses Ted of letting her escape. It's this event that Luc feels a strong hatred toward Ted. Almost immediately after the distortion, Luc is minorly involved in Slappy and Fenrir's strange game of tag and almost gets tackled by the demon dog. Fortunately for him, the dog knew how to jump high.

As the days go by, Luc is given permission by Holy Harmonia to perform the Rune Extracting ceremony on Willis to get the Star Life. During this painful process, though, a distortion happens and it fails. Once Willis recovered, the young man tells Luc to perform another extraction spell. The exception was that Deis would perform it instead. It turned out to be a safer ceremony, but it fails as another distortion occurs. Luc stands on the sidelines a little bit until redeads begin to attack the Toran Republic. He takes part in the war battle and devastates the enemy with his rune, like he has done in the past. When Nineve falls, he's the only one, besides Greg, to check and protect her until the battle is done. The battle is over and Mahna becomes distraught with grief. He tries his best to calm her down and console her, but she's convinced she's not needed. She gives Luc the message of making Sephiroth the new commander of the Toran Army. Instead of letting her go, he finally confesses his love to her and the two kiss, hoping to keep Mahna's depression under control from then on.

Finally, after much searching, the lair of the strange Mad Hatter is discovered. When the Toran Army enters Yggdrasil, the World Tree, the twin jesters Zorn and Thorn admit that Luc was one of the many people invited. To prove that the army was worthy to meet their master, they had to battle the ten Archangels of Yggdrasils. Luc sided with Mahna, Spyro, Savannah, Corey, and the newest recruit, Ulrich, in the battle against both Raziel and Metatron. Both battles were a success. With the angels defeated, and Zorn and Thorn leaving the Mad Hatter, Luc accompanies his team into the last sphere, Daath, to battle the bizarre master. Instead, it is the Midgard Serpent that awaits them. It was this battle that Savannah, Spyro, and Mahna were violently killed by the massive beast. In a fit of rage, Luc resorts to summoning the true power of the True Wind Rune to battle the Midgard Serpent.

The True Wind Rune Incarnation

With the full power of the True Wind Rune unleashed, Luc defeats the Midgard Serpent, possibly killing it, and killing himself in the process. However, his death, along with everyone else's, is short-lived as Hotaru brings them back with Yggdrasil sap. Luc sat in the infirmary with the others, trying his best to recover afterwards. Days later, Luc witnesses the end of the failed Reforging Ceremony of the Radiant Star. The result was Loki appearing in the buff in front of everyone. Luc lends the young man his coat until he's properly clothed. However, instead of the coat being returned, Luc is given it back by Miku, who had found it in the vault. He tells Loki if he wants to be a part of the Toran Army he must clean his coat up first. However, Luc's coat is used as bait to capture Impmon.

A day after the operation is completed, Luc begins to have nightmares of his death, along with Sarah's. Leknaat appears and tells him that the only way to truly end his suffering is to return to the sight where the Second Fire Bringer War ended. With a white rose in hand, and Viki's assistance, he returns to the Sindar Ruins and places the rose on the remains. As he does, Sarah appears before him. It is revealed to be a plot by Leknaat to try and drive Luc and Mahna a part. When Luc finally realizes this, he breaks away from Sarah and returns to Mahna. Instead of banishing the magician, she's welcomed into their company. Almost immediately afterwards, Xadron had disturbed the sleep of the Beast and the entire Toran Army is pulled four-thousand years into the future.

U-TIC Organization Arc

Luc doesn't play a major part in this story arc. He does discover that, in the future, him and Mahna are one of many people that managed to somehow survive Earth's disappearance, but haven't "awoken" yet.

Hyrule Arc

Luc assists his comrades in the war battle rematch against the redeads when they emerge. However, they were being led by a mysterious man, Schwarzes, this time around. After Loki goes berserk and Corey blasts him, Luc interrogates the young man with the Ragnarök daggeer. Loki seems to be afraid of the weapon for reasons unknown. Though an exact reason was given for him going berserk, Luc reluctantly believes Loki's story. Almost a day later, Luc would travel with the Toran Army to Hyrule to prevent Xadron from destroying their country. Their quest led them to the Temple of Time, just in time to assist Link to battle against the man they thought would be his destroyer. Their efforts were futile, no matter how hard they tried. Not even Luc's True Rune could harm him.

With Xadron gone, Luc joined with his comrades to explain the tale of the Black Hearts to Princess Zelda and the Sages of Hyrule. With the tale told, Xadron reappears with his Eternal Chain group. Luc wanted to kill each of them with the Ragnarök dagger, but he stopped when he discovered that the man known as Schwarzes was actually Yuber. He couldn't kill him, for if he did, dharma would conquer the balance. All he could do was stand and watch as Xadron used the Triforce to make Hyrule his. Once the Toran Army escaped from Hyrule Castle, Luc was chosen to accompany Mahna and the others to the Shadow Temple when the time came. The time did come once Loki helped Link and Zelda purify the Water Temple. Once inside the Shadow Temple, Luc became Mahna's protector from anything, like Rot's Petra Flame demon or the Shadow Demon, Bongo-Bongo. Both times, Mahna had mysteriously killed each demon with an unseen power.

Once all the temples and sages are purified, it was time to begin the war on Xadron. First, the Toran Army traveled to Gerudo Valley to stop Weiß. To Luc's luck, Albedo was one of the people he wanted to get his hands on after what he did to Mahna during the Watchers' war. When the battle ended, he was one of the many people reluctant to bring Albedo into their group, even if he was possessed. A day later, after Loki drove the Solomon Demon Agares out of Yuber's body, Loki once again interrogates him on the truth behind him, the reappeared Fenrir (Ulrich), Hel, and the Midgard Serpent. After the failed interrogation, Luc assisted Mahna as she battled Petra/Rot in one final battle. With everyone's assistance, they were able to drive the demon Bifrons from the thief's body.

Eve of the Climax

Instead of relaxing for the final battle, Luc sits in the infirmary, with Nineve and Hotaru, while Mahna rests. Once Corey and Winona come to visit, Luc explains the situation to the two. Unbeknown to him, Mahna had woken up and heard everything.

Final Battle Against Xadron

Luc joins the Star Warriors and many other people in invading Hyrule Castle to banish Xadron. He leads the army against Zorn and Thorn's many strange demons.

Jiendo Arc

With Xadron finally defeated, it's time to relax. Luc makes his first appearance in this arc attending the celebration party at Hyrule Castle dressed in a tuxedo instead of his usual gear. However, when the party is ruined by Leknaat, Luc finally shows his hatred toward the seer when he defends her from Mahna. Even though Leknaat had told everyone Mahna was the Beast, he still stood by his commander's side. He was convinced she wasn't.

As the Star Warriors battle Xadron, Luc appears with every other Star of Destiny to assist them. He uses his True Wind Rune to blast the dark entity.

After Jiendo and Xadron had been defeated, Luc runs into the Temple of Time to check on Viki and Loki. He sees Loki is dead, and Viki tells him, in the most incoherent way possible, that the Ragnarök dagger had been destroyed along with Jiendo. It was him who told Ulrich, Mun, and Hel what had befallen their beloved father.
