Background Information

Gregory Pendragon, the patriarch of the Pendragon family, is the most experienced member of the family when it comes to war. Having been enlisted in the army in the seventies, he quickly picked up military actions, what to do and what not to do. After his days of working for them, he tried state jobs, all in which didn't seem to pay too much that he had expected. One day, a letter came to him from the Justice Bureau, requesting him to work for them. They had better pay, better plan, and better anything than his previous job. After putting in his two weeks notice for the state, he joined the bureau quickly. Not at all did he expect that some day his children would follow in his footsteps and join the same agency. Unlike his children, he preferred to stay in the real world and work instead of risking his life out on the battlefield against creatures with special powers. He became head of the Technical Department of the bureau in less than a year, which surprised him a lot.

Greg has always been a supporting father, always looking out for his family if they ever needed him. However, like any other protective father, he would begin to have doubts about Drake's decision in women, especially one in the form of Tygress. He would be one of many people to see her be eliminated when her true identity was revealed.

Season Four - The Maverick Invasion

Black Heart City Arc

Greg appeared in the director's cut of the Black Heart City Arc, where Drake explained the origin of Saseko. He would relive his role of doubting his decision to trust her.

Season Five - The Cult of the Watchers

Mamie St. Claire Arc

Greg appeared in the beginning of season five, greeting Corey when he enters the Justice Bureau. Like Nineve and Kristin, he mistook him for Drake. As soon as he arrived, he did a mind scan on him, discovering that the poor lad didn't have memories of his own, only Drake's. He would later be seen at Drake's funeral, along with his family.

Greg would finally join the Toran Army, along with Nineve, after Triple H and Trish Stratus' failed attempt to capture Viki. The reasoning behind his joining was because Filauna and the entire Justice Bureau staff thought that Mahna and the others were growing lazy after all the spare time they had. When Mahna and Nineve leave to argue, Greg reveals the truth behind their sisterly querrels, starting from junior high, where he apparently didn't like their principal. A few days after the defeat of the doll monjin, Arasoi, the professor would celebrate his fifty-second birthday. Later on, he would be seen in the birthday planning montage with Nineve and Mahna, while being spied on by Slappy. He's next seen when Mamie, who is still possessed by Mae Young, returns to Gregminster. Like he did with Saseko, he doubts her being a good woman when she asks to see Corey. After she captures Corey, he plans a strategy to attack the old crone's temple and get him back. It works nearly flawlessly, with the exception of Mae drinking from the Star Goblet. He would help Nineve revive Mahna, Spyro, Savannah, and Max after they are killed by the Mae demon with the goblet.

With Mae Young defeated, and her eighth life destroyed, Greg is seen again during the Toran Castle Rebuilding Campaign. He is one of the many people who agree to go along with Nadir's idea to perform plays for the people of Gregminster to raise money. During a montage, he's seen training Luc and Sasarai, with help from Mitts, about the ways to use a sword for their play (which was never seen in the episode). He would perform in the "Dracula" play as Professor Helsing, co-starring with Glenn, Minako, and Magus.

Cult of the Watchers Arc

When the Cult of the Watchers attacks the computer world, Greg reappears when Mahna addresses the situation to President Lepant. As he returns to the castle, with new recruit Gremio, he, like the others, doubt the decision of Mark and Fluisa joining when they ask for work. He would quickly devise a plan of action against Yuber and Albedo when it's reported they are attacking the Orange-Toran border. Later on, when Mahna is captured by the Watchers, he helps Usagi devise a plan to confront her when she takes charge of the army. This strategy would not work against his daughter when she battles her former comrades. He was angered by the loss, but even more angry when he found out he lost to a child, the real leader of the cult, Manah. He wouldn't make another appearance until the time Shion prepares to show off the Erde Kaiser to the Toran Army. Greg, though he hadn't been around for a while in the war, reappears when Mordecai betrays the army when he finds his Vessel of Anima, Zebulun. He follows Spyro, Savannah in their Gear, Renmazuo, until they go to battle the insane agent and his monster, Major Numerus. He jumps over to Shion's Erde Kaiser when his son goes under the sea to find the Vessel of Anima, Joseph. He had secretly been creating a new weapon for the army with Zappa, the Fire Spears, weapons that the former Toran Army used against the Gregminster Imperial Army years ago.

When Urteil is coming, Greg tries to contact the bureau, only to have his communicator with them explode from all the electrical interference caused by the upcoming destruction. He doesn't waste time creating a strategy when Albedo appears on their communication screen with Kristin. This strategy would not work and Kristin loses her life to the insane albino and Corey is captured. He goes along with the group onboard Battle Ship IV when they plan to invade the Sky Fortress to rescue both Corey and Nora. There he devises a plan of attack with the help of Ami, Daria, and Nineve. His plan succeeds, but at the same time, Mamie was killed in the attack.

Greg reappears after the Watchers take over Gregminster. He comes up with a strategist to attack the imperial city and try to drive Manah out with the usage of both the Ragnarök dagger and the Fire Spears. The plan works and the Watchers are defeated. However, Urteil is still a threat to the computer world. Greg is seen on the Battle Ship when the Grotesqueries descend and would survive the crash when its destroyed. He tries to talk Mitts out of having Nineve shoot him, but eventually succumbs to his dying wishes. He lets his daughter kill him and quickly calms her down when she tries to kill the grotesqueries. He would come up with one final strategy to use to drive the grotesqueries and their mother, the queen-beast, away from Gregminster and its civilians, using Viki as the catalyst. He would stay behind while his children carry the weight of the world on their shoulders.

Movie Five - The Castle of Broken Dreams

Greg appears in the appearing of the Castle of Broken Dreams speaking to Oshria and her guardians when they rejoin the Toran Army, explaining to them the reason why Drake wasn't around to greet them upon their return and why Glenn allowed himself to be possessed by Ansem. He would also supply Glenn with the information he needed of the events he missed when he was rendered comatose. This would be one of the last appearance Greg makes in the waking world.

He appears in Corey's first memory chamber when he arrives at the castle, serving as the leading strategist for Mahna. Corey's surprised to hear that he had no idea who Drake was when he brought him up. After getting their situation settled, he tried to bring up a plan to defeat Ghaleon. He wouldn't have the time as the Magic Emperor appears in the castle with Xenobia and Royce to attack. With Ghaleon quickly defeated, Greg disappears into the darkness of Corey's mind once he leaves the memory chamber. Greg returns once Corey enters the Justice Bureau part of his mind. He's seen with Filauna and Nineve, warning him to be careful of Tygress (Saseko), as though Corey had a full-on relationship with her to begin with.

In Glenn's story, Greg reappears for one last scene in the Justice Bureau part of his mind. Instead of being the friendly strategist that Glenn knew, he is a hateful, venditive man who blames him for Drake's death. This was all crafted by the Organization's own Zexion.

Season Six - Tempus Edax Rerum

Tree of Life Arc

Greg makes his first appearance trying to talk Mahna and Luc out of using the rune extracting technique on Willis to get the Star Life out of his body. Even his words can't talk his daughter out of performing the dangerous spell. He would make another appearance after Mahna, literally, throws Nineve out of her room when the redeads are prepared to invade. During the war battle, he would try to save Nineve from one of the undead by stabbing it in the eye with a dagger. He's too late and his daughter has died. The death was temporary as Oshria uses her pendant to revive her. After Mahna believes she's no longer needed in the Toran Army, she has a flashback of Drake's funeral in which Greg makes her promise to watch over Corey as though he was apart of their family. Greg becomes involved with the Yggdrasil invasion, accompanying the Toran Army into the World Tree. Though he isn't seen throughout the entire time they were inside, he would show up after the Mad Hatter's defeat, helping Nineve gather fallen tree branches.

U-TIC Organization Arc

Greg would also accept Daria as his apprentice when she wishes to quit the security staff. Later on, just like everyone else in the Toran Castle, he is pulled into the future when Xadron disturbs the slumber of the Beast. After Viki is kidnapped by Margulis, he becomes temporary co-captain of the Elsa with Captain Matthews. As the army returns to the present, he joins the festivities at Gregminster and watches Nadir's abomination of a play he created. Like everyone else present, he hated it.

Eternal Chain/Jiendo Arc

Greg ressumes his status as main strategist of the Toran Army once the Eternal Chain attack Toran Castle with redeads, led by Schwarzes. With his authorization, he allows the army to use the Fire Spears once again. He's the only person in the group who wishes Loki to remain alive after he attacks Corey after he had previously defeated Schwarzes. His services would be required again when everyone has a dream of Link being killed by Xadron. He accompanies the Star Warriors, Oshria and her guardians, and Luc to Hyrule to try and establish an alliance in case something like this happened. He would be involved in the fight against Xadron in the Temple of Time and is nearly killed by the madman. Though this event took place, he would be present to speak to Zelda and the sages about the alliance, until it's broken up by Xadron and his Eternal Chain. Thankfully, Viki appeared to get him and the others out of the castle before anything happened. With help from Rauru of Light, he helped form teams to find and rescue the other sages from Xadron's evil spell.

With the sages rescued, it was time to strike Xadron. Once again, Greg would supply the teams with strategies to combat against the groups of Weiß, Schwarzes, and Rot. During the battle against Albedo, he leads a few army units of Fire Spear wielders, which works moderately well until Nineve opens fire with her Yggdrasil Rune Cannon. With the demon, Zagan, exorcised from Albedo's body, Greg is one of the only people who thinks the albino deserves a second chance for his crimes, much to Jr. and Corey's dismay. When it comes down to facing Yuber, he's extremely reluctant of having the use of a Rune Cannon shell be used to make Death Mountain erupt to attempt to defeat their dark enemy. After defeating the Solomon Demon, Agares, Greg devises a plan with Rei to defeat Petra's Solomon Demon, Bifrons.

Eve of the Climax

Greg would confront Spyro in the game room when he's trying to ease some tension, telling him that no matter what happens, he'll be proud of his son. He even reveals to the entire Toran Army that he's bald.

Gregory Pendragon during the eve of the climax.

Final Battle Against Xadron

Greg would create a strategy to have the entire Toran Army, with the exception of the Star Warriors, Winona, Link, Zelda, Albedo, Yuber, Petra, Viki, and Loki's group, attack the front gates of Hyrule Castle. He has Satsuki and Aoi disguise themselves as Link and Zelda, courtesy of Nadir, to serve as a distraction while the main team made its way into the castle. When Xadron summons forth the true form of the Eternal Chain, Greg is onboard the Battle Ship, helping Nineve and Kaede maintain the ship's composure. He would be seen amongst the crowd when Xadron is finally defeated, hoping that Drake, Kristin, and Mamie had seen the outcome of the battle.

Tempus Edax Rerum

Greg makes himself present for when Filauna, now general of the Justice Bureau, comes to take Xadron away from the Toran Army's company. Afterwards, he attends the celebration party in Hyrule Castle, which is rudely interrupted by Leknaat. He didn't want to get involved with her, but that changes when the seer calls Mahna the Beast. With the party ruined, Greg and Nineve try their best to cheer Mahna up and convince her she's not the Beast that was rumored to kill them all. Greg would attend the Reforging Ceremony, which would repair the broken Radiant Star. However, this celebration would also be interrupted by the appearance of the awakened Xadron. Like the others, he retreats upon the awakening of the Beast, Jiendo. He would also learn the story of the Beast and the Tormented, who have been linked to each other from the beginning of time and forward on. It was Greg's idea to keep Corey in custody until the situation was handled. This plan failed when Xadron attacked the Battle Ship and Corey escaped. Not even Greg's pleas could turn Corey away from his fate to merge with the Beast, thus bringing forth the end of time and the universe. He would be present when Corey has his psychotic episode that would lead Jiendo to begin the process of total annihilation.

Greg is present in Kakariko Village to listen to Corey's story of what had happened in the Temple of Time. During the credits, he plays Nineve in a game of chess and beats her quickly.
